Registered in September 2020 and launched in February 2021, the Alliance is made up of seven member associations drawn both private sector and civil society players in the sector with a total membership of over 1,000 members.

Association of Energy Engineers(AEE)

The Association of Energy Engineers is a nonprofit professional organization that specializes in training, membership development, chapter development, and certification for professionals practicing in the fields of energy management, renewable energy and green buildings. The goal of AEE is to foster cooperative action in advancing the common purposes of its members and to promote activities designed to enable the industry to be conducted with the greatest economy and efficiency. Established in 1977, AEE is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with over 20,000 members in 105 countries, and more than 100 chapters around the globe

CRENSTAR RENEWABLE ENERGY INITIATIVE (More known as ‘Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria)

Crenstar Renewable Energy Initiative, also known as ‘The Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria’ is a not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder association, which promotes the large scale deployment, impactful policy formulation and implementation as well as appropriate use of renewable energy technology in Nigeria and the reduction of greenhouse gases through reduced consumption of fossil fuels. The association aims at advocating for efficient, appropriate renewable energy awareness, development, standards, expertise, implementation; and to contribute towards developing a comprehensive and deployable sustainable energy strategy for Nigeria

CRENSTAR RENEWABLE ENERGY INITIATIVE (More known as ‘Council for Renewable Energy Nigeria)

The Association is dedicated to the promoting the growth and development of the industry in Nigeria by engaging with the public and private sector to guide advocacy, policy formulation and investment in the sector

Founded in 2009 during the International Conference on Renewable and Alternative Energy in Owerri, Nigeria. The Society’s objectives are to provide an exchange forum for ideas and research information, to encourage collaboration among scientists, engineers and technologists, to create awareness about the potentials of RE technologies, and to organize conferences, workshops, training and seminars to give room for knowledge-transfer and exchange of information. Membership is drawn from scientists/researchers, solar and biogas experts and companies with RAESON’s focus being research.

The association is devoted to boosting access to clean energy services by ensuring its sustainable growth in Nigeria’s energy mix and attracts investors to the sector as well. Further, they are aiming to build capacities among the RE actors and to develop research and related studies that are focused on the situation and applicability in the Nigerian context.

Their membership consists of academia, policy makers and corporate members from sectors such as, Hydro, Biofuel, PV, Solar heating/cooling, and Wind Energy covering; SESN membership covers almost all geographical parts of the Nigerian country and could establish a strong outreach to rural communities. The society is very active in publishing scientific journals.

Their main activities include sensitization, awareness, capacity development for women and youth.
