Legal & Policy Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • Development of policy briefs
  • Analyses of existing policies and regulatory framework (e.g. at retreats, workshops, etc.) and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Guide the development of RE/EE policies, and to provide oversight of same ensuring consistency.
  • Review new and existing REEEA-A policies and procedures, including the Bylaw, and make recommendation to the BOT. As per the Association’s Bylaw, all Policy shall be made in accordance with the Constitution and existing Bylaw. The Policy shall refer to any official statement of values, beliefs, principles or process of the Association related to how it governs its own affairs or represents member’s interests to the public and to the government.
  • Maintaining and developing substantive and procedural guidance.

Technical Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • Determine and advise REEEAA on the type of RE and EE technologies deployment that are of socio-economic and environmental importance(priorities) in the immediate, medium and long term;
  • Assist the REEEAA in the continuous review, analysis and update of technical issues in our policy and regulatory framework for RE and EE deployment.
  • Interface with the Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) on behalf of REEEAA to render regulatory support technical services and products quality control (QC)/ quality assurance (QA)
  • Conduct of research studies to enable the REEEAA expand RE and EE technologies access to rural communities across Nigeria;
  • Assist in the generation of (Data Bank) and analysis for REEEEAA in line with the global RE and EE requirements

Advocacy & Communication Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • Promotion of a conducive business environment and advocate to national, state and local governments on policy & regulatory processes regarding new RE sources:
  • Promote the uptake of renewable energy in Nigeria and to advocate for the achievement of SDG 7, universal access to clean, affordable and reliable energy
  • To research, identify and understand the issues needing advocacy
  • To establish and foster good relationships with stakeholders across the renewable energy value chain to create avenues to advocate for the interests of the Alliance and its members’ government to advocate the interest of all members
  • To provide services in the area of communications which include journalism, Public Relations and Marketing.

Finance & External Relations Committee

Terms of Reference:

  • Access to finance: Mapping of finance landscape.
  • Planning, coordination and implementation of all fundraising activities in support of the projects and activities of the association.
  • Developing fundraising mechanisms to raise funds from diversified sources (finance institutions, donors, corporates and other relevant investors and stakeholders) in order to guarantee financial stability of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations(REEEA)- Alliance; and ensure that the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations(REEEA)- Alliance develops and maintains strong and effective partnerships towards the implementation of its strategy.
  • Facilitate networking and symbolic collaboration and partnership within and among the stakeholders.
  • Implementing Networking Events to establish links with regional and international organizations / associations.
