REEEA-Alliance President Prof. Magnus Onuoha Concludes Impactful Participation at the Second Africa Climate Summit in Ethiopia
The Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Environment Alliance (REEEA-Alliance) is proud to announce that our President, Prof. Magnus Onuoha, has successfully concluded his participation at the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), held from September 8–10, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Hosted by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in partnership with the African Union Commission, the summit, themed “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s Resilient and Green Development,” concluded today, September 10, 2025.
Throughout the summit, Prof. Magnus Onuoha actively engaged with critical stakeholders, including African Heads of State, policymakers, youth leaders, and global climate finance experts, to advance Africa-led climate solutions. His contributions in high-level plenary sessions, ministerial roundtables, and side events emphasized the pivotal role of renewable energy and energy efficiency in building a climate-resilient Africa. Prof. Onuoha championed scalable, sustainable initiatives and equitable climate financing, aligning with REEEA-Alliance’s mission to support Africa’s Agenda 2063 and global climate goals.
“Participating in ACS2 has been a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders and drive transformative climate action,” said Prof. Magnus Onuoha. “REEEA-Alliance remains committed to fostering innovative energy solutions that empower African communities and promote sustainable development.”
The summit, attended by over 25,000 delegates, including 45+ Heads of State and 100+ speakers, culminated in the Addis Ababa Declaration on Climate Change, setting a strong foundation for Africa’s priorities ahead of COP30. Prof. Onuoha’s impactful engagement has reinforced REEEA-Alliance’s leadership in advocating for green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and increased climate finance for Africa.
The President Governing Council was also a Panelist in a Side event on the second day 9th of September 2025, at M6, Addis Ababa International Convention Center: On NDC Implementation Index and Tracking Tools for Africa developed by ATPS Network Kenya, WAGEDI Nigeria and PACJA Kenya and funded by the African Development Bank( AfDB)
